Description
Released in 1988 this was the sixth and final album from the Australian indie band The Go-Betweens. The band broke up the following year. (In 2000 Grant McClennan and Robert Forster reformed the band with a different line up.). I bought this record new and taped it straight away and it has only been played a few times since then. However I was in the habit of cleaning records before putting them back in their cover, and in the case of this record some parts were still wet when I put it back. This lead to the marks on side one (photo 9) and side 2(photo 10). The inner sleeve has left a "misting" mark in these spots which won't clean off. I discovered this some months after I did it, and as a consequence I put a new inner sleeve on the record. There was no further misting and what there is does not seem to have affected the sound. I played it through and listened on head phones before listing and could not detect any appreciable deterioration of sound quality in these spots. I have graded the vinyl as VG- due to the appearance. Otherwise the vinyl on both sides is clean and shiny. Sound wise both sides play LOUD and clear, with only some low level surface noise on the run in tracks and between the tracks, no scratches, skips or jumps and both labels are clean. The production is great and plays well at mid volume setting, plays as VG. The cover is in great condition,clean front and back, no stickers or writing, no splits or tears and the spine is intact and can easily be read in the shelf.(VG+) There is a paper inner sleeve with song lyrics on one side and band line up and production details on the other. This is also in VG+ condition no tears or splits, no writing or stickers. I have also again replaced the inner plastic sleeve with a brand new one For track listings see photos 5 & 6
