Description
This is becoming an increasingly rare LP.
It's on the UK Columbia label.
It's a stereo recording and is entitled 'To Samuel a Son'. It's by The Gods and the catalogue number is SCX 6372. It was released originally in 1969.
OUTER SLEEVE - The flipback sleeve which is laminated on the front is in fine condition. The front shows very minor damage at the corners, some creasing and some minor feathering at the open side. The edges and spine are in fine condition with no damage. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. The flipbacks which are also laminated are in fine condition with minimal wear. In the top right hand corner it states 'File under POPULAR : Pop Groups'. In the bottom right hand corner it states 'TPS 7001 Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patent No. 943.895 SCX 6372' . The non-laminated rear of the sleeve is in fine condition with almost no discolouration or wear. The only blemishes are a couple of small stains which are hardly noticeable. I've graded the sleeve Ex-.
INNER BAG - Plain white die cut paper type with clear plastic liner.
RECORD - The record is in fine condition. It appears to have been played quite a few times. There are some superficial marks on either side which do not affect the quality. It plays very well on both sides with some very minor surface noise and some very occasional pops and clicks on both sides. These blemishes do not detract from the overall quality of record. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side. The record has definitely been well played.
LABELS - The labels are black with silver and white wording. On the left side of the labels are printed the matrix numbers (YAX.3954 on side one and YAX.3955 on side two) . There are some definite spindle marks around both holes. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - YAX 3954 - 2 (stampers 1 G) - side two - YAX 3955 - 2 (stampers 1 G). I've graded the record as Ex- which I believe is very fair.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.
