Description
For sale here is an album by the Graham Bond Organisation entitled the Sound of 65.It only sold in tiny amounts initially and is the earliest pressing available.Those in the band went on to fame with Cream and Colosseum.33SX1711 is the catalogue number. SLEEVE This sleeve is in EX condition with just a few creases and slight wear to the laminated front.The spine is fully legible.The rear is also EX but there is a name written on the rear Susan Hanley in fairly light biro.If you know what you are doing it can be removed but I have left it as it is. LABELS The labels are in NM condition,no names or writing on them.The labels are black and blue first pressing. RECORD This is in NM condition amazing for a record as old as this.and plays brilliantly throughout.The music has crystal clarity and the production is superb..The record has been cleaned by a machine costing £1000s.The matrix is 1N denoting a very early pressing. This is a historic recording highly valued at £400 in the RC Guide.It is the earliest flip back pressing with 33SX on the labels,later pressings just had SX.The sleeve is laminated at the front and made by Garrard and Lofthouse.I must mention the black and white photograph on the rear which extends to the full depth of the adjoining text and adds Blues Graham Bond absent from later pressings.There are also crucial credits missing cover design Ginger Baker and sleeve notes Chris Welch added on later pressings.Quoting Aaron Milenski in Galactic Ramble a very respected journalist---This album which preceded the Clapton Bluesbreakers and Cream sounds remarkably modern today,the groove is solid and sleazy ,powerful and unique music. To summarise I doubt if anyone would be disappointed with this purchase if they win the auction but if anyone is unhappy they can return the item for a full refund.
