Description
THE GRATEFUL DEAD “Wake Of The Flood” 1st Press 1973 GD-01. EX all around.
A first pressing from the Pittman pressing plant, evidenced by no song listings on the back cover. The vinyl is shiny, and clean. The sleeve is totally intact with little shelf wear.
“Wake Of The Flood” was the band’s sixth studio album released in late 1973. It was the first offering from the band’s own Grateful Dead Records, hence the GD-01 catalog number. The album was also Keith Godchaux’s first real showcase “playing in the band” and his Jazz influence shines here and the band evolves with more diverse arrangements.
Important Dead songs: “Row Jimmy”, “Stella Blue” (quoted as being Jerry’s favorite Dead song), “Eyes Of The World” and more were new and on this Lp.
An original 1973 first edition in great condition to collect and play.
