1967 THE HAUNTED LP - TRANS WORLD VERY RARE AND SOUGHT AFTER RECORD.

VINYL - is in VG+ conditon. I would rate it as a 6.9 out of 10. Minor scratches does not affect play of the record. I am not a record expert. It plays and sounds great. Minor crackling on one song on side two, I believe it is called Wist.

SLEEVE - is in great shape, has original shrink wrap on it. Minor tear on top edge. Overall an 8 out of 10. The shrink is ripped a little on the back on the top..

The vinyl is very glossy, there are some hairline scratches, nothing that you would feel with your finger, overall the record is very clean aside from that. The label is very clean as well, with some very light spindle marks that you really have to look for under some really strong light. The cover is still in original plastic with a small tear on the back in the shrink wrap not the record, very latent ring wear on the cover, again only seen under strong light (there is an impression of the vinyl which I am not sure that I would classify as ring wear, it is seen under very close inspection). Here and there are some light brown age marks under the plastic. I think i am being conservative as a plus. I would say it is a strong plus.

Haunted were a garage rock band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The band was formed by Jurgen Peter (guitar) in 1965, and went on to release several records before finally disbanding in 1971.[1] They were among the first Canadian bands to achieve a level of success in their musical genre.

In 1965, Jurgen Peter joined up with Bob Burgess (vocals), Al Birmingham (lead guitar), Glenn Holmes (bass), (Rick Broden Bass for 6 months)and Peter Symes (drums) to form The Haunted. Besides Peter, the other constant band member through most of its six year history was Birmingham. The band membership that recorded the band's best known song, "1-2-5" was composed of Birmingham (lead guitar), Peter (rhythm guitar), Burgess (vocals), Mason Shea (bass) and Dave Wynne (drums).[2]

The band's first big break came after winning a Battle Of The Bands at the Montreal Forum in 1965, beating such competitors as David Clayton-Thomas and the Shays. The first prize was studio time that they used to record the two songs on their first single, "1-2-5", with "Eight O'Clock This Morning" as the B-side. The first pressing of this record had the band name misprinted as "The Hunted."[3] Ironically, the later pressings with the band's name correctly spelt, are now more difficult to locate.

The single achieved substantial local success, making the Canadian version of the national charts (RPM Weekly Magazone) and enough attention in the US to attract a US pressing of the single on the Amy record label. Several more singles, as well as a self-titled album over the next two years, served to increase their popularity. Their final single, "Vapeur Mauve" is a French language version of Jimi Hendrix's "Purple Haze".

The band grew to be one of the most in demand bands in Canada for the balance of the 1960s and into the early 1970s. Peter decided to fold the band in 1971, commenting as follows: "We were the most sought after and highest paid Canadian band for many years. When I folded the band in 1971, I had to cancel a whole year of advance bookings and it cost me a fortune in lawyer's fees to get out of some of them.
