THE HITMEN “I Want You” RARE 1980 Aussie 7” indie hard rock punk RADIO BIRDMAN
The Hitmen – I Want You 7” (orig. Australia WEA STEREO 100129, with picture cover)
Release date: April 1980.
On offer here is an original issue of the second 7” single by Sydney-based HARD ROCK band, THE HITMEN. This particular copy comes with the EXTREMELY RARE picture cover and certainly stands as one of the most highly prized post-RADIO BIRDMAN rarities. Chris Masuak and Warwick Gilbert were members of RADIO BIRDMAN between 1975 and 1978.
It should also be noted that these are the first recordings of both tracks. Brad Shepherd (who replaced Tony Vidale on guitar in 1981) re-recorded the guitar parts for THE HITMEN’s debut album. Therefore, the LP versions of these 45 cuts are not the same.

VG++ matt finish: very minor creasing & light scuffing (along spine, left & right seams, front: bottom-left corner), moderate corner crease (front: top-right), NO SEAM SPLITS, surface rubbing, tiny spot stains, very minor stain (back: bottom-right corner).
Record:
visual: beautiful glossy sheen—insignificant hairlines & few light surface scuffs (side 1: VG++, side 2: VG+) (seen under strong light).
audible: EX sounds superb overall despite some insignificant underlying surface noise. A HIGHLY ENJOYABLE LISTENING EXPERIENCE!
