Description
The one and only Honeys (Ginger Blake, Marilyn Rovell, and Diane Rovell) are captured here on MGM 13413 as Ginger and the Snaps, doing "Seven Days in September" b/w "Growing Up is Hard to Do." Released in October 1965. Both sides are written by The Monkees songwriters/producers Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart (with help on the flip by one-time Beach Boys & Honeys producer Nick Venet). Both sides arranged by Gene Page. No signs of surf on this one, no Brian Wilson either, as the girls perform two sweet tunes much more in the tradition of The Paris Sisters (particularly the Jack Nitzsche arrangements, not the Phil Spector ones). You can hear both tracks on the recently released CD "The Honeys Collection" from EMI/Capitol Special Markets & Collectors Choice Music. An absolute gem in any condition, and this one is in VG+ condition.
