ARROW RECORDS present Stelvio Cipriani's stunning soundtrack to "THE IGUANA WITH THE TONGUE OF FIRE", the gloriously excessive thriller directed with aplomb by Italian craftsman RICCARDO FREDA.
An archetypal giallo from the genre's halcyon era, Freda's film spins a tawdry tale of brutal murder and sleaze amongst the milieu of the Swiss Ambassador to Ireland. These grim proceedings are offset by a luxurious and melodious score by STELVIO CIPRIANI, the unfaltering Italian composer whose captivating compositions grace some of the finest Italian genre films. With this soundtrack we are treated to a series of sophisticated arrangements by turns silky, scary, romantic and delirious, some of which feature the delectable vocals of NORA ORLANDI.
This translucent purple vinyl edition is limited to 500 copies. The recording has been newly mastered from the original analogue tapes by JAMES PLOTKIN and is presented on 180 gram wax housed inside a 350gsm sleeve. Featuring newly commissioned artwork by GRAHAM HUMPHREYS and accompanying liner notes by HOWARD HUGHES.
"The Iguana With The Tongue Of Fire" ("L'Iguana Dalla Lingua Di Fuoco") (1971):Dublin, a young woman is brutally murdered in her home by a maniac that throws acid in her face and then slits her throat with a razor. Her mangled body is later discovered in the boot of a limousine owned by the Swiss Ambassador Sobiesky. The Ambassador, who was the dead woman's lover, refuses to cooperate with the police due to his diplomatic immunity. John Norton, an ex-cop famed for his brutal working methods, is brought in to help and gets too deeply involved when he stars an affair with the Ambassador's beautiful step-daughter, Helen. Meanwhile, the brutal killings continue...
