Everything’s Fine Right Now

The Incredible String Band debut album may not be typical of the Psychedelic wizardry and esoteric excursions they’d undertake on later records, but it is perhaps the purest realisation of their vision at the time of the bands conception. There’s that fresh faced trio of Robin Williamson, Clive Palmer and Mike Heron on the album sleeve, piercing the camera as they clutch a range of exotic stringed instruments. That’s exactly what you get inside, a record where three visionaries display dexterity with strings to tap into a melting pot of UK and US traditional music. It tells you little about what was to follow with this enduring, ever-evolving collective; dig deeper into these arcane grooves though and it they actually reveal all! A brilliant, unique and frequently rewarding debut album.

LABEL

The original orange textured Elektra label with large ‘E’ logo

MODE

Mono

VINYL TYPE

Seriously solid, medium width vinyl

VINYL CONDITION

The overall appearance of this brilliant original album is very clean and shiny; I have graded it as an Excellent. On close inspection you may detect a few very light marks and paper scuffs. These do not affect play at all apart from a couple of the lightest of pops; they are a minor point but the primary factor in my grade. The spindle wear isn't excessive but it does show that the record has been played a few times. The labels are clean although the previous owner did write a name in small letters on the side one label. Essentially, it has maintained a brilliant clean appearance and a sensationally clear sound quality making it well worthy of its Excellent grade if not something better!

SOUND

The whole record will play in its entirety with only the odd light pop or click, and in no place does it jump or crack in an intrusive way. The album plays through all of both sides with no problems so it can be enjoyed, with great audio clarity, as a fine listening experience from start to finish.

COVER TYPE

Fully laminated single album cover

COVER CONDITION

This is a strong Very Good+ rated original album cover with no major marks, blemishes or damage. The edges are all smooth and totally un-scuffed while the spine is still firm with clearly legible text. There’s a tiny amount of sticker residue on the top right of the front and near the spine there are some light laminate creases and a small amount of laminate lifting. There is a small bit of ring-wear which has not developed into a nasty circular scuff; it’s more just a reflection record shape visible against light. These minor factors are the only things that contribute to my grading on an album sleeve that remains fully intact and basically is still a fine looking piece.

Europe - £3.50 (45s) / £7.75 (LPs & 12” singles)

Rest of World - £5.75 (45s) / £11.75 (LPs & 12” single)

Reductions offered on multiple purchases are half the marked rate per item after 1st record

Postal insurance is offered as an optional extra.

I do not profit on packaging. All records are sent in professional mailers with stiffeners and polythene sleeves in which the disc will be removed from the sleeve for extra protection. I take great care with my packaging and want to make sure the records arrive in the same condition they left me. The recorded option is now compulsory because too many buyers claim their items do not arrive when they are sent without any form of tracking, so with recorded packages we all know exactly what’s going on with the delivery and records no longer disappear down a big postal service black hole!

PAYMENT METHODS

Paypal is preferred and I will not charge my buyers extra for using it.

Cheques, Postal Orders and International Money Orders are also accepted provided they are all payable in UK STERLING.

FRUIT TREE

This is my Ebay outlet for rare and classic vinyl artefacts in the fields of Rock, Garage Rock, Psych, Folk, Acid Folk, Jazz, Blues, Indie-Alt, Singer-Songwriter, Country, Rock’n’Roll & Doo-Wop and anything that’s cool and scarce on round wax! I have a particular emphasis on the period 1966-1972 and a fondness for the Island, Harvest, Immediate, Vertigo, Charisma and Transatlantic labels, particularly from the period specified above but also on other smaller obscure labels and the cool later stuff you’ll find at places like 4AD too! I’m basically on a perpetual voyage of discovery (as indeed you are I should think if you’ve read this far) and it’s always a case of anything unusual, weird and wonderful considered!

I strongly believe that any great music from the 60s and 70s was made for vinyl and simply has to be heard this way; it’s the format the music was made for and the difference in sound to an original vinyl pressing to a CD issue is often astounding! I take this vinyl affection through to the best new music as well, and to this day prefer to hear a great new album on a vinyl pressing if one is available. To this end, Fruit Tree Records on Ebay will from time to time unearth newer vinyl treasures as well as vintage ones for your delight.

I will always play grade my records and endeavour to describe them with 100% accuracy so that you know everything you need to know; there’s nothing to hide so please e-mail me any questions. I know from my years of collecting how important a detailed description is when buying over the internet.

REFUNDS

Finally, I am aware enough to know that even with my best efforts I may occasionally, very rarely but still occasionally, write a description opinion that the buyer does not 100% agree with. If that happens please don’t worry, I will not debate with you the difference between an EX- and VG+. I will give you a full refund, including your return postage costs, as long as you get the record back to me within 14 days. That’s guaranteed so buy with confidence; I hope you find something you like...
