THE INFERNOS 1967 Your Love For Mine / Road of Life 7" Pride 45 rpm Garage Psych
Signed/personalized by Infernos leader Chuck Douglas
Limited, signed pressing on the Pride label (Tulsa, Oklahoma). Garage/psych featuring shouts, surf "wipe-out style" drums, cheesy organ, tempo breaks, fade-outs and back again, tasty lead guitar licks. Road of Life is the stronger track. It features exuberant lead guitar, even more exuberant call and response vocals, warbling keys, a drum solo and even harmonica. The sound jumps out of the speakers, albeit in lo-fi. VINYL VG (Record is very clean and glossy. Nice groove integrity. Both sides play perfectly with no skips, scratches, warps. Recording and production are lo-fi. "Your Love" has some background pops and clicks that do not overwhelm the sound. "Road" plays vg+. On both tracks, there is some flattening/muffling of the high and mid-range frequencies that I suspect are due more to the DIY production than to actual wear/damage to the record, because the vinyl appears to have not been played very much at all.)
