Description
This is the rare live 1982 vinyl bootleg album - Young Man From Woking. I purchased this in 1983 from a record fair and has never been out of plastic sleeve, other than today to photograph, so therefore never been played; the sleeve is in excellent condition with no rips or tears (see pictures). The collection consists of 2 vinyl albums and a 7" single. The track listing of each is as follows:
LP 1: The Gift, Ghosts, Absolute Beginners, Tales From The Riverbank, Precious, Town Called Malice, In The Crowd, Circus, Pretty Green, Start, Boy About Town. This was recorded live for the BBC 27 February 1982 - Hammersmith Odeon, London.
LP2: Dreams of Children, Smithers-Jones, Little Boy Soldiers, But I'm Different Now, When You're Young, Eton Rifles, Down In the Tubestation, Strange Town, All Mod Cons, David Watts, Thick as Thieves, Saturdays Kids, To be Someone, Burning Sky, Pretty Green, Start, Going Underground, Mr Clean, Private Hell.
7" single: Side 1: Start, Side 2: Circus (Live). recording is good quality.
below is an extract from a recent e-bay add for the same album, but i cannot agree or guarantee that the same will apply to my copy, as i have mentioned it has never been played and i have no record player to check. I remember paying £30 for this album in 1983 so not to play it was a waste you may think, and you are probably right, and i have a few more jam and The Style Council albums inc imports that are still in shrink wrap sleeves, never opened or played, if anyone is interested.
Please note: The quality of the recording on LP1 is very good (due to BBC recording) and the track listing coincides with the sleeve description (except extra track "Tubestation" is also on LP1). The quality of the recording on LP2 is poor, and the track listing does not coincide at all with the track listing on the sleeve (you have been warned !) - it is definitely not part of the Hammersmith Odeon Concert (possibly Sound Effects Tour 1980, maybe Newcastle City Hall 1980, but I cannot verify this).
