THE JAMES GANG “Yer’ album”, here’s the very first James Gang album from 1968, the powerhouse guitar trio featuring a young Joe Walsh on guitar !! this is the original USA first press on the ABC RECORDS label, catalogue # ABCS 688. The heavy gatefold cover in EX/EX+ condition, no writing, no split seams, still has bright original colours….has only some wear here and there. Record in EX+ or better condition, has only few very light paper surface signs (visually graded, Not tested). American power trio from the early 1970s, the Ohio-bred James Gang, despite never reaching the same heights of stardom of their contemporaries, boasted some seriously killer jams that have remarkably stood the test of time: “Funk #48”, “Walk away”, and “The bomber” chief among them. Perhaps the most significant thing about the James Gang, however, was the brief presence of guitarist Joe Walsh. In addition to providing the band with its distinctive acid-tinged power-blues sound, Walsh would go on to join the eagles as well carving out a successful solo career. The band soldiered on after the soon-to-be superstar’s 1971 departure, but never regained the power they had with Walsh at the helm. Here then, arguably their best album, the very first 1968 “Yer’ album”….before they were ‘discovered’. Please take a look to my others auction rarities now on ebay !!!!
