CATALOGUE NUMBER 612 003 YEAR OF RELEASE 1967 COUNTRY OF RELEASE U.K. SLEEVE TYPE GATEFOLD- Ernest J. Day LAMINATED OUTERS WITH INTERNAL FLIPBACKS INSERTS/EXTRAS FOLDOUT LYRIC INSERT   GRADING/CONDITION DISC(s) EXCELLENT (ISH) It really all depends what you want to do, if its a copy that has never been played and has been locked away in a vault snce 1967 and all you want to do is transfer to another vault, then this copy isnt for you. If however you want to actually listen to some classic Hendrix in top form and in MONO with all the amazing raw power that it contains then this copy more than does job. Visually it is clean and shiny and hasnt been overplayed with just a few marks, the most noticable is a scuff on side 2 which though visible with the naked eye is just what some might call a hairline, only if you have thick hair though, and having played it all the way through a couple of times, well you would would'nt you, am happy that the quality is good and there are no nasty surprises such as jumping or sticking, and just a bit of occasional background. LABELS

EXCELLENT+ ( CLEAN LABELS with great texturing and NO writing rips tears stickers or removal marks LIGHT spindleusage and VERY LIGHT storage and handling wear)

SLEEVE

Front board.Inner gatefold EX

CLEAN SLEEVE with NO rips tears stickers or removal marks. The front laminate is nice and shiny with minimal rubbing wear pressure marking and very light creasing, there was a name and address of a previous owner in the top corner, but it has long gone and there is just an impression left in the laminate. INNER GATEFOLD is clean and unmarked with minimal handling and ageing.

Rear board EX+ REAR laminate is much as the front, clean and shiny with VERY LIGHT wear and handling only Flipbacks EX+ Internal flipbacks are clean and stuck fast. Spine EX+ The spine, which is important on this sleeve more so than others because it forms part of the picture, is complete with very light wear only, there is no spine lettering to comment upon. Top & bottom edge EX+ Both top and bottom edges have just LIGHT wear and a couple of small nicks to the laminate Opening EX+ Openings have only LIGHT wear and VERY LIGHT usage Corners EX Corners have light wear with a bit of light rounding at the bottom.   INNER /EXTRAS

INSERT: VERY GOOD- (Well its complete but has seen its fair share of being handled over the years, has been repaired along the fold at some point, has wear to the left edge where it has been left protruding from the sleeve and a few other nicks and creases, but its survived and that is the main point really I suppose. The pictures below sum it up nicely)

  DETAILS

Jimi Hendrix's second album followed up his groundbreaking debut effort with a solid collection of great tunes and great interactive playing between himself, Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell, and the recording studio itself. Wisely retaining manager Chas Chandler to produce the album and Eddie Kramer as engineer, Hendrix stretched further musically than the first album, but even more so as a songwriter.

He was still quite capable of coming up with spacy rockers like "You Got Me Floating," "Up from the Skies," and "Little Miss Lover," radio-ready to follow on the commercial heels of "Foxey Lady" and "Purple Haze." But the beautiful, wistful ballads "Little Wing," "Castles Made of Sand," "One Rainy Wish," and the title track set closer show remarkable growth and depth as a tunesmith, harnessing Curtis Mayfield soul guitar to Dylanesque lyrical imagery and Fuzz Face hyperactivity to produce yet another side to his grand psychedelic musical vision.

These are tempered with Jimi's most avant-garde tracks yet, "EXP" and the proto-fusion jazz blowout of "If 6 Was 9."
