Day LAMINATED OUTERS WITH INTERNAL FLIPBACKS INSERTS/EXTRAS NONE GRADING/CONDITION DISC(s) EXCELLENT+ (NICE CLEAN original pressed on a heavyweight piece of vinyl that you actually know you have a record in your hands,and a brilliant record it is too,I'm talking content and reproduction here by the way,rich tones fantastic interplay between the band members and a lovely earthy sound that you can only get from these early MONO pressings,and the record itself is in good shape lovely and black and shiny with NO real playwear to speak of and the only real mark is a light surface mark mid way through side one,which is only really visible under a lamp and is inaudible anyway,as I said nice well cared for record) LABELSEXCELLENT+( CLEAN with NO writing rips or tears stickers or remains, some LIGHT quite tightly packed spindlemarks and LIGHT handling marks)
SLEEVEFront board.Inner gatefold TOP EX+ MUST be one the best examples of this iconic sleeve left. Having been stored in a protective outer for most of its life the laminate is in lovely condition with NO dulling through excessive movement NO ringmarking NO rubbingwear NO creasing to the main body and just 4 or 5 very light laminate creases to the top and bottom edges. INNER GATEFOLD is nearly as good as new with MINIMAL storage and handling wear Rear board TOP EX+ Rear board is nearly as good as the front,again with lovely shiny laminate NO rubbing wear or ringmarking,there is a hint of a pressure mark at the bottom,and it is just that ,a hint a few ultralight "thumbnail" type creases near the opening. Flipbacks EX+ LOVELY shiny black internal flipbacks with hardly any wear at all Spine EX+ REALLY nice uncrushed and complete spine with NO laminate loss or cracking and really looks great when looked at in reference to the whole package. Top & bottom edge EX+ OVERALL all 4 top and bottom edges have minimal wear with no laminate loss or discolouration,see corners Opening EX+ THE opening has very light wear and very light usage Corners EX The only letdown in the whole package is the ends of the openings on the rear board have about 1/4" of wear along the edges. DETAILSJimi Hendrix's second album followed up his groundbreaking debut effort with a solid collection of great tunes and great interactive playing between himself, Noel Redding, Mitch Mitchell, and the recording studio itself.
Wisely retaining manager Chas Chandler to produce the album and Eddie Kramer as engineer, Hendrix stretched further musically than the first album, but even more so as a songwriter. He was still quite capable of coming up with spacy rockers like "You Got Me Floating," "Up from the Skies," and "Little Miss Lover," radio-ready to follow on the commercial heels of "Foxey Lady" and "Purple Haze." But the beautiful, wistful ballads "Little Wing," "Castles Made of Sand," "One Rainy Wish," and the title track set closer show remarkable growth and depth as a tunesmith, harnessing Curtis Mayfield soul guitar to Dylanesque lyrical imagery and Fuzz Face hyperactivity to produce yet another side to his grand psychedelic musical vision. These are tempered with Jimi's most avant-garde tracks yet, "EXP" and the proto-fusion jazz blowout of "If 6 Was 9."
