This may be Cab Calloway's first recording, and if not, its a very early one. The vocals are rather unusual for the time as there is heavy scat singing - it certainly is entertaining! Sound on this one is great - on both sides.
The vinyl is in VG+ or better condition
Sound on this 78 is fantasic with only light background noise and very loud and clear music. "St. Louis Blues" side: grade of at least VG+. As the pictures show, there are some light needle tracks on the St. Louis Blues side - these do not create any noticeable defects in playback and are not detectable to the touch. There is also a very small chip (just the very top layer) at the edge as shown in the bottom picture on the left - this is on the lead in well before the groove. "Gotta Darn Good Reason Now" side looks a close NM- grade: excellent as the pictures show. Again, the record plays great on both sides, this one is a very enjoyable listen. No sleeve available.
The record comes well packed to prevent damage during transit. There is no sleeve.

I will have the Goldmine Standard in mind when grading but will be taking plenty of pictures to represent the records condition. Any items having multiple condition grades: First grade is vinyl, second is the sleeve.

"Goldmine Standard" grading:
SS = Still Sealed
Never opened. Any flaws (torn shrinkrwrap, creasing) will be indicated in the description.
NM- = Near Mint Minus
Has been opened, but is still flawless
with no damage whatsoever.
VG+ = Very Good Plus
- Vinyl: May have scuff marks and signs of some wear but will still play almost perfectly throughout, with only "barely detectable" crackles or pops. A slight noise at the begining is allowable, but the remainder must be nearly flawless.
- Cover: May only have the slightest signs of normal wear.
The majority of records (worth selling) fall under this grade.
- Vinyl: May crackle, pop or make other annoying noises, but only occasionally,never continuously, and not more loudly than the music being listened to.
- Cover: Normal used cover wear such as ring wear and split seams. If there is abnormal damage such as tears or markings, but the seller still feels that it qualifies as a
"VG", the damage must be described in comments attached to the item.
G+ = Good Plus
- Vinyl: May have continuous crackles, pops, etc... but not so loud as to make the music completely unenjoyable for the casual listener.
- Cover: More than normal wear and tear.
