The KINKS were, like The WHO, a leading Mod band, making RnB and Garage pop rock into a vital British style.
The Swinging 60s were an astonishing period for imaginative music and fashion, and these lads were in step with this from the start.
They stayed on the Pye lable for the 1960s, where their pop took on a somewhat more sophisticated psych style as the decade went on.
Here was a step forward from the simpler garage beat, and toward more thoughtful compositions.
Ray Davies with his brother Dave essentially laid the way with tough mod sounds, lyrically direct stories and creative rhythm.
Indeed Pete Townshend was specific in wanting the style for his band, and followed in their footsteps with The Who, even getting the same producer to record them.
A VERY RARE EXCLUSIVE STEREO EXPORT EDITION of this album - it's surely one of the standout records of the time!
CONDITION;
The VINYL grades EXCELLENT, plays and sounds great! Top surface sheen.
PYE raspberry red Labels are EXCELLENT
Spindle lines around the centre hole
The Single Card LAMINATED Cover grades EXCELLENT, a very respectable example.
Very slight aging at the edges.
(The NSPL /STEREO sticker has peeled off)
