Description
I am selling some cool records. Here's an amazing rare FIRST US PRESSING of THE KINKS LOLA VERSUS POWERMAN THE MONEYGOROUND PART ONE, released in 1970. This LP is the VERY FIRST US PRESSING, and on the RIVERBOAT LABEL. This is an amazing LP from THE KINKS. Their songwriting is at full maturity, and the songs here are treasures of rock history. As amazing as THE KINKS were, they are somehow not as highly considered as The Stones or Beatles. I personally find that incredible. I think the songwriting of The Kinks far supersedes that of the other bands. That might be arguable, but what is not is the amazing freeness to the songs. The boys are having fun, and making big statements. It comes after a string of artistically amazing LP's from them which started with Face to Face, and Something Else-- right through Arthur and Village Green. This one follows in the trajectory, and is a classic. This copy is NEAR MINT, and PLAYS MINT. The cover is STILL IN SHRINK with an original cover price sticker. Comes with ORIGINAL MINT INNER, and the LP is gorgeous with clean beautiful labels and perfect playing vinyl. FIRST US PRESS HAS THESE SPECS; Printed with blueink on the jacket design and with blue lettering on the cover art.
Gatefold release with lyrics.
Original pressing, states "Manufactured by Bethevin Productions, Ltd" on labels. Subsequent pressings substitute ABKCO Records in credits.
Artist is featured on cover and spine as "Kinks," but listed on labels as "The Kinks."
Title includes "Part One" on cover and spine, but not on labels
