THE KINKS Lola Versus Powerman And The Moneygoround (Reprise RS 6423) Rare MINT!
Here`s an early seventies US pressing of The Kinks`"Lola Versus Powerman And The Moneygoround" on Reprise Records (1970). It`s difficult for me to pass an evenhanded judgement on this monolithic work, as it was the first Kinks album I encountered; suffice to say there`s not a weak track on the whole album!
Ray Davies` razor-sharp analysis of the British pop business was as acute as the tunes were variably catchy ("Lola", "Apeman") and hard-rocking ("Powerman", "Top Of The Pops"). In short, a must for every serious rock collector.
Grading:
MINT- COVER, only lightest general wear.
MINT- RECORD that looks practically unplayed, even under bright light. One solitary light spindle line on one label, otherwise perfect.
