Description

THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD 1971 album by David Bowie on 12" vinyl. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class.

When this LP was issued in 1971, I read the Melody Maker review (attached to inner sleeve) and immediately rushed out and bought it.  About a week later the record company withdrew the original version due to criticism of the cover picture. It quickly became one of my favourite albums of all time, so has been frequently played and handled throughout the seventies, and occasionally since then, until I bought the CD version.  I played it again recently to check its condition.  It has some crackling and a few pops, but no cracks (ie it doesn't jump).  The cover is still in one piece but showing signs of its age.  Nevertheless it is still an important piece of Bowie’s history.

The album number is 6338 041.  The numbers on the run off towards the centre of the vinyl are 6338041 1Y//1V420 4 on side 1 and 6338041 2Y//1V420 1 1 on side 2.
