This is my MINT / MINT ORIGINAL UK copy of this ULTRA RARE VINYL LP by THE MARVELETTES - "MARVELLOUS MARVELETTES" - released on TAMLA MOTOWN Records in 1965 -TML 11008 in MONO. This wonderful copy has been in my collection for many, many years - un-played ( I have a lesser copy that I play, that will remain in my collection). It was given to me by a person who was directly involved with the infant UK Tamla Motown label. At the time, I was attempting to build a complete run of early UK Motown LPs. We were working together on a project and when this one was discussed as being on my wants list, this copy was kindly given to me! I remember thinking how wonderful the sleeve looked, so new and how wonderful the TAMLA MOTOWN logo looked when it was presented so big on the front cover (why did they shrink it soon after? A very beautiful thing, because it was so old, but looked so 'new'. I will of course reveal the previous owner of this copy to the winner! People claim records are MINT when they are not. This one genuinely is MINT/ MINT, both disc and sleeve. It came into my hands having had been put on the turn table once to see if the EMI 'pressing' was OK for distribution. It was explained to me by the previous owner that the first few seconds of each side of this very copy were played to test the pressing. All was fine and the disc was put back into the sleeve and onto the shelf of a cupboard (no light damage) as the office file copy - where it had remained until it passed into my hands. I value my 100% ebay feedback and so I have carefully played the record today (Technics SL1200 with new head) and it is perfect - not a single noise - SILENT apart from the sound of the MARVELETTES - it is "OFF THE SHELF" MINT! It is so cool to hear VINYL that is silent and then explodes into sound as this does with the wonderful introduction to the album's opener "As Long As I Know He's Mine". There is no need to say anything more about this disc, it is a BRAND NEW RECORD! It's 1965 all over again! Though I think it's worth more than £1/12/6d now! The cover is perfect also. It was in a locked cupboard until I was given it and since then in a plastic sleeve, filed between TML 11007 "THE MOTORTOWN REVUE - RECORDED LIVE!" & TML 11009 "MEET THE TEMPTATIONS". There is no loss of 'colour' on the perfectly readable spine! A PERFECT, PERFECT copy of what is possibly the RAREST of the UK TAMLA MOTOWN label LPs. This record can of course be collected by the winner after payment via Paypal or a cheque that has cleared, but if I must post it, I am going to insist on SPECIAL DELIVERY at £6.00 (with extra packing for protection). For Europe and the rest of the world I will quote a postage cost with FULL insurance if you win. Good LUCK - this is going to make some MOTOWN or Soul collector very happy this Christmas!
