Description
This is a rare original 1963 US first pressing of the Marvelous Marvelettes LP on Tamla T-237. Hollywood pressing. The disc has some light marks and scuffs but it plays WAY better than it looks. It doesn't look that bad but it plays just beautifully. All of side one plays almost perfectly with barely even the slightest crackle between songs. Side two has a more noticeable mark, but mostly plays the same, except for a bit of ticking in the first part of the song Too Strong to be Strung Along, which is audible but not so loud as to destroy the song. It goes away after a short while and the rest of the song plays great. Aside from this one spot this disc plays surprisingly beautifully. A real pleasure to hear. The cover has some light general wear, and a name written right in the center (see photo). There is a 2" seam split at the bottom edge, and the two left corners are worn. A little overall shelfwear as well, but really all in all this is a pretty good cover. The originals are usually way worse off than this. Despite its minor flaws, this is quite a lovely copy that sounds just wonderful.
