The singer (one of them anyway) sounds a bit like Jim Morrison and the band sounds a bit like Iron Butterfly. And the darkness of both groups is certainly present. I'm So Sad has to be one of the gloomiest songs of the 60's, as well as one of the greatest psychedelic songs I've ever encountered. It begins with utter downer vibes and peaks like the most orgasmic acid trip you can imagine. You will literally feel yourself being lifted off the ground during this amazing track. I could assign it superlatives all day long, but it's not the only highlight here. Dejected Soul is Iron Butterfly dosed with an extra 1000 mics and As For Now is another spaced out gloomfest that will darken anyone's day; I mean that as a major compliment :). The rest is solid, top tier psych and there is no filler to be found whatsoever. In fact that's my main problem with the album. It's way too good to be this short. But the 29 minutes it does stick around for are absolutely heavenly. 60's acid music does not get much better than this.
