Description

Miles Davis Mono six eye LP in near mint condition presents his sound as you have never heard it before.  The high quality of this record LP cut in 1957 will amaze you.  Round about midnight the Miles Davis Quintet.  Pure Miles!  Cool is still cool!
According to the Columbia records information they still made Mono LP in the 1950s for the southern folks who were still using the older type record players.  
CL 949 Columbia LP high fidelity MONO.  Deadwax number XIP39109- 1A.  Features Miles Davis, with John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers, Philly Joe Jones with cover art by Marvin Koner!
The cover is still in vibrant colors and shows some shelf wear.  This is a one owner record to us.  Label is vibrant with slight spindle wear marks.
ALSO included for free is MILES SKETCHES OF SPAIN arranged and conducted by Gil Evans in mono.  Regular CL 1480.  Lost wax 1-F.  We like this LP, however, the Midnight LP highlights the talent of Miles Davis better.
The Stereo versions of Midnight do not have the tonal quality of the original mono and later were "remastered" to take out the live feel of the recording.
