MOTOWN COLLECTORS - ORIGINAL PICTURE SLEEVE ISSUES - ALWAYS HARD TO COME BY.
Here's a stunning original 1964 USA first issue copy with the elusive picture sleeve of this great pairing from THE MIRACLES with "I LIKE IT LIKE THAT" and backed with "YOU'RE SO FINE AND SWEET" on the US TAMLA imprint # 54098.
Pricing has always been partly determined by the condition of the sleeve rather than the record itself and finding a copy with a decent matching picture sleeve has always been a challenge as many have become soiled and dog-eared over time with heavy creasing, rips, written annotations, price stickers, coffee staining as well as the inevitable deletion drill hole and ring wear. On a scale of 1 through 10 with "ten" being mint, I would rate this sleeve as "9.5" with little in the way of ring wear and with minimal creasing without rips or written annotations and just a little bit of foxing and a staple hole in the top right hand corner preventing perfection. Note that staple holes are very common on many US issues as dealers did this to prevent customers removing the record from the sleeve.
The disc itself plays superbly throughout with top audible quality and remains in mint minus condition with minimal crackle on the run-in and run-out groove and light surface sleeve rubs. The labels are very clean on both sides other than some storage rubs and with little in the way of ring wear making this a top copy of this rare combination for the DJ or collector (see picture scans).
