THE MIRACLES - "Ooo Baby Baby" THE TEMPTATIONS - "My Girl"
EMIDISC acetate - UK - 1964 / 65
Incredibly rare double-sided UK EMIDISC acetate of two classic Tamla Motown tunes. The Emidisc labels are legible, if a little faded, and the acetate is in a plain paper sleeve.
The Miracles side is mis-typed "Ooh Baby Baby" on the label.
Condition is far from mint, but to be honest I have heard far worse from 1960's acetates and it's probably G+ at best I'd say. It plays through ok with no jumps or skips. There's some surface noise, more noticeable on The Miracles side which is a quieter, slower cut anyway. This is par for the course but being an Emidisc acetate it may be possible to clean this one up and grade it higher. See photos for details.
Although the condition is not super clean, there's no doubting its rarity. I collected Motown acetates for years and never saw another two-sider with these two tunes. Finding any mid 1960's Tamla Motown / UK Stateside acetate in any condition is rare indeed and I'm offering it strictly as a collectors item. Serious Tamla Motown / UK Stateside / soul collectors will know how scarce this one is...
