ORIGINAL UK LONDON/ATLANTIC (LTZ-K 15136) FIRST PRESSING (April 1960) OF THE MODERN JAZZ QUARTET'S SELF-TITLED LP RECORDED IN 1958 - Critically regarded as one of their premier recordings and arguably their finest studio album - John Lewis himself said it's one of their best (and you can't argue with the man!)
AND THIS COPY IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION - IT'S HARDLY EVER BEEN PLAYED AND IT LOOKS AND SOUNDS SENSATIONAL - COOL, LAID BACK SOUNDS WITH A GREAT VIBE
PRESSED WITH THE FIRST MATT, MAROON/SILVER LONDON LABELS (which are grooved - this is a Decca pressing) WITH THE "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1958" STATEMENT

LABELS: The labels are clean, fresh and unmarked with possibly just one light spindle trace - beautiful copy - MINT-
VINYL Visual: The vinyl surfaces still retain their original deep, like-new glossy sheen (amazing for an LP which is 50 years old) and are completely unmarked - MINT
VINYL Audio: Superb MONO cut with a crystal clear, deep, rich sound - beautifully recorded and engineered (as you expect from Decca who produced some of the finest sounding records). On playback at a loud volume (which is how I always listen to my LPs prior to listing) there are no scratches, no sticks or jumps, no clicks or pops, no surface noise and just the slightest hint of (very brief) audio interference on the final track on Side Two (which sounds a little like groove-wear, which it can't be as the record is practically unplayed, so this must be a pressing issue - this is only for a split second and is the only audible flaw to this otherwise pristine LP). Critically graded NEAR MINT for audio (because of the aforementioned but otherwise, MINT) this is a stunning copy which is very highly recommended indeed
SLEEVE: The original front laminated duo-flipback sleeve (which is very thin and flat) is also in beautiful condition - clean, crisp and fresh with just a light touch of rubbing and record impression to the laminated front (very minor) - NEAR MINT
