Description

A promo 45 on the World Artists label by the Moments with "You Really Got Me" b/w "Money, Money". This is a classic piece of garage psych history - the only record that the band released before Steve Marriot and the boys went their separate ways... and then the Small Faces history is well known, of course. The record is in somewhat rough shape, but it looks a lot worse than it plays, because the vinyl is stained on one side. Plenty of smaller scratches, but still a very enjoyable listen, and for me it's in good enough shape to use as a DJ at clubs, etc.

Great and rare US-Only Mod release! This is one of Steve Marriott's first ever recordings just prior to his Small Faces career. On this 45 you get a rousing and garagy version of the Kinks classic "You Really Got Me" and on the other side is the track that many mod djs are now spinning , "Money Money". Steve handles lead vocals on both sides. The b side sounds to me as if it were strongly influenced by Georgie Fame and other mod combos from that era. It's got a great beat, handclaps and all the stuff that Mod djs like to spin to keep the dancefloor moving. Rare white label copy. Great must have for Small Faces fans and Mod Djs!
