THE MOODY BLUES

'SEVENTH SOJOURN'

ARCHIVE COPY, 1st GATEFOLD SLEEVE LYRIC INSERT AND HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL

Released 1972

Label   THRESHOLD THS.7

Matrix    XZAL -11772 P-5W   Stamper: 2 B   DCM

               XZAL -11772 P-3W   Stamper: 3 C   DA

THE VINYL   EX+

As you can see, this vinyl is the highly prized 1st UK pressing on THRESHOLD label..not a later 70s pressing. This is in super Decca heavyweight vinyl typical of the era. Later copies were flimsy in comparison.

This first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.

There are a few tiny light whisp lines on both sides! ..No marks or damage and only a few little hairlines across the vinyl.. it'll be hard to find better than this for a heavyweight first pressing we feel. The vinyl plays fantastic with just the lightest of static in  afew places and on the lead in grooves..no skips jumps or noises to spoil the play.

Overall, we rarely see this LP in such good condition, and it is an essential adition to any vault collection

THE LABELS    MINT-    Superb no wear, original matt white labels

THE SLEEVE     EX+  s  SUPER MATT  SLEEVE

Correct FLAT MATT THIN SPINE Gatefold first issued earliest sleeve  -by 'Robert Stace'.  Later sleeves were the typical glossier late 70s/80s design - this is straight out the box from 1972

This example is in SUPER clean condition and has the correct 'insert included' printed on the back top sleeve.

The edges are all super clean with NO traces of rub!  at all!  Just the open side tips have the tiniest of tip rub -the spine tips are superb

All colours and inks remain in outstanding condition

No powdery white ringwear or even ring press of any note, and all edges are super crisp.

The open edge remains in immaculate sharp condition with no real hint of any handling

The open out of the gatefold is simply perfect, no dulling, white rub or wear at all.

The rounded spine edge is totally unmarked and all legends are perfectly readable, a couple of tiny spider lines only. It leans over, as did all copies.

There is the lightest of ring press by the spine, and on the open edge there are a couple of discolour spots.

WE CLARIFY BY SAYING, THIS SLEEVE IS SIMPLY OUTSTANDING QUALITY.

THE INNER SLEEVE   EX+

Original Decca blue print poly lined inner sleeve . No tears or scissoring

LYRIC INSERT  MINT

Paper insert is immaculate
