Description

THE MOON - WITHOUT EARTH

A lovely condition and highly presentable copy of this UK original 1968 "under the radar" psychedeiic gem on the highly collectable blue Liberty label.

Original 1968 UK Liberty
Label number : LBL 831467

Matrix numbers : LBL 83146 A - 1 420  /  LBL 83146 B - 1 420
Truly excellent (EX) condition vinyl with just a couple of very wispy hairlines and extremely fine paper scuff marks on each side (slightly more so on side 1 where there is one area - the size of a 2 pence piece - where the paper scuffs are slightly more visible but even then only identifiable with close scrutiny under a bright light) - certainly nothing feelable, heavy or below the surface and no impact upon upon the wonderful MONO sound quality. Excellent plus (EX+) labels - unmarked apart from just a single small and extremely light spindle trail on each label, immediately adjacent to the centre hole. Clearly this is a record that has been sparingly played.  The front side laminated outer sleeve remains highly presentable and in overall very good plus (VG+) condition with firm unscuffed edges, nicely defined right angled corners but with some mild rubbing on each, some very mild edge fraying on the front side opening edge, no cardboard creasing but some sporadic very light laminate creasing (but no laminate lifting), some very mild ring wear and the odd very light storage/shelf wear mark on the reverse side though the artwork/colours/text all remain impressively intact.  Truly excellent (EX) MONO audio quality with no skips, jumps, repeats, nasty clicks (I did notice x4 sporadic light background clicks on the entire record though closer inspection revealed no obvious cause so I can only put this down to dust particles caught in the grooves through decades of storage) or obvious interference - just the merest hint of some very light background crackle during the dead wax run-in on each side and a couple of the intermissions on side 2 - negligible really, with every track making for a great listen.  Comes with original poly-lined "PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS" inner sleeve with no seam splits or edge fraying, just a little mild creasing and a single very small 1cm tear on the bottom edge - still remaining fully functional.
A rare 1968 original UK 1st press and completely "under the radar" LP when first released 54 years ago, now an acclaimed and sought after psych gem worthy of gracing any rock vinyl collection.

POSTAGE COSTS :

For the UK £5 using Royal Mail 1st class signed for ;

for continental Europe £14 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for,

and for the rest of the world £20 using Royal Mail 1st class tracked and signed for.

Note that for Italy I now use a courier (either Parcelforce, UPS or DPD) for shipping purposes, for a flat fee of £17 (that includes tracking and signature)

I do provide posting and packaging discounts for multiple purchases. I make no profit from postage.

Note that I always insert the vinyl(s) into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself  to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

A bit about myself : I have been collecting UK vinyl for over 52 years from a variety of sources : my own collection, friends and family, car boot and garage sales, door-to-door leaflets, and even through placing an advert in my wife's shop window! My ebay feedback speaks for itself so rest assured that you are buying from a trusted seller and in the very unlikely event that you are unhappy with your purchase just e-mail me and I will sort out the problem. I offer a "no questions asked" refund policy. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to oblige. There is NO RESERVE on this item. Richard

Descriptions of any records I sell comply with the Rare Record Price Guide grading guidelines :

Mint  The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent  The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good  The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good  The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Fair  The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor  The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing

Bad  The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
