THE MUMMIES VS THE WOLFMEN Double Single from Sympathy for the Record Industry (Record # SFTRI 110) with Coop Comic Art!
Ultra rare special double single featuring one disc with two great tracks from the Mummies (“Land of 1000 Dances” b/w “Victim of Circumstances”) and a second disc by the Wolfmen (“Insane in an Insane World” b/w “I Don’t Want No One…”). This set is hard to find and I’ve seen it go for around $50, but I’m starting the opening bid low to get the ball rolling. If you’re lucky you could get it fairly cheap. Each record comes in its own plain white sleeve. 7” cover is actually a comic booklet by the low brow artist Coop depicting a battle between the two bands. The Wolfmen single and the B Side of the Mummies single play great. I think I only played this once or twice when I first bought it, and then recorded it on a cassette tape. “Land of 1000 Dances” has a skip a few seconds before the solo (another reason for the low opening bid). I do not see a scratch or imperfection, and I think I only played this once or twice back when I bought it new, so it may be my crappy turntable. Records and booklet still look like new. White sleeves have some small bent corners. I am not a “professional” record collector, just a very passionate music fan, so I can not “grade” this like others might, but it looks and sounds great except where previously noted.
