THE NEW NADIR + ME AND THE OTHERS – Uncovered. Feathered Apple FA-6514. Swiss release. NEW UNPLAYED VINYL RECORD ALBUM. Issued in 2009. Includes 3 black on white inserts. Both sets of recordings made in 1967. MUSICIANS, The New Nadir:  Ed Carter, Gary Thain, and Peter Dawkins. Me And The Others:  Peter Dawkins, Dave Chapman, Gary Thain, and Paul Muggleston. TRACKS, The New Nadir, recorded on August 28, 1967 at Sound Studio Erlenbacherhof, Switzerland:  People Are Changing, I Need Her Now, Walking, Tomorrow, and Black Snow. Me And The Others, recorded live on January 20, 1967 at Robinson Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany:  Love Is Not A Game (this track only recorded on October 28, 1966 at Regent Sound Studio, London, England), Even Green Ones, Comin’ Home Baby, You Better Run, Hold On I’m Coming, and Can’t Turn You Lose. DESCRIPTION:   Groundbreaking split LP including 5 killer previously unreleased 1967 freakbeat/r'n'b/garage studio tracks by the legendary New Nadir featuring Ed Carter from San Francisco, California on lead guitar and vocals (pre- The Beach Boys); Gary Thain from Christchurch, New Zealand on bass (pre- Keef Hartley Band and Uriah Heep); plus Peter Dawkins on drums (the greatest record producer from down under). The New Nadir have played some celebrated clubs in London like the Speakeasy, where they gigged a few times with Jimi Hendrix, who was supposed to produce their first record for the UK Polydor label; however after Ed Carter received an offer to join The Beach Boys, the band split and nothing was released. The five fantastic tracks by The New Nadir were recorded on Monday, August 28th 1967, at a professional Swiss recording studio near Zürich, and capture them in a great mood. The songs include top freakbeat/garage masterpieces (Tomorrow and I Need You Now), unique eastern influenced freakbeat tracks with raga riffs (Black Snow), and the pop-art sound of People Are Changing, and the rambling guitar instrumental Walking. This LP is highlighted by the previously unreleased freakbeat monster Love Is Not A Game, which was recorded by the pre-New Nadir outfit Me And The Others in November 1966, at Regent Sound Studios in London. This could easily rate as one of the greatest freakbeat tracks ever produced in the UK. Me And The Others were from Christchurch, New Zealand, and featured Peter Dawkins on drums, and vocals; Dave Chapman on guitar; Gary Thain on bass; and Paul Muggleston on lead vocals, guitar, and organ. Five choice live tracks from a Me And The Others gig in Germany recorded in January 1967 round out the collection:  The amazing Graham Bond Organisation type guitar-organ instrumental Coming Home Baby, plus fantastic mod/freakbeat versions of You Only Run, Hold On I’m Coming, and Can’t Turn You Loose, as well as the killer garage punk original track Even Green Ones.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers.

RETURN POLICY:

Please e-mail me with specific details and I will get back to you with your options. I ask that if there is a problem with the item that you contact me as soon as possible after receiving it. Any item that must be returned is done so at the buyer’s expense. Any refund, exchange, or substitution/credit will be at the buyer’s choice, but not made until the original item is received back by me; in the condition as stated in the item description. 

NON-ARRIVAL OF PACKAGES:

US Customers:  Please wait at least two weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. All packages are shipped with confirmation/tracking, you will received an automatically generated shipping notice from Ebay e-mail with your tracking number. It has been several years since I’ve had a package not make its US destination, so risk is minimal.

INTERNATIONAL Customers:  Please wait at least 3 weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. If security is your concern please have your package registered (see above for fee). I do my best to quickly post packages, but once the package is in the hands of the world’s postal system it is beyond my control. With First-Class Package International Service my only option for investigating the loss of your package is to verify that it left this country to its destination country. Most all delayed/lost packages have disappeared/been delayed after they have reached their destination country. NOTE:  Based on recent buyer feedback, International packages have been moving much slower these days; it is not unusual for a package to take over three weeks for delivery, though normally packages should arrive in 7 to 15 business days.
