The New Tweedy Brothers album, which was recorded in 1968 and released on Ridon in a fabulous oversized hexagonal sleeve with mirrored silver/brown finish, is one of the ultra collectables of the 60’s phychedelic era and originals change hands for vast sums of money. Its reputation is certainly well deserved and it is an absolute classic of its genre with echoed vocals and great psych guitar work. This reissue was put out a few years ago by Shadoks in a limited edition of 500 and pressed on heavyweight vinyl. It is, I believe, an exact replica of the original as it has the same oversized hexagonal cover and the labels and sleeve say “RIDON” and quote the original cat.no. “S.L.P.234. In fact, the only reference I can see to Shadoks is that “Shadoks 078 “ is etched on the “dead wax” of the run off groove ! There certainly seems to be very few of these around now and they are, in fact, becoming collectors items in their own right ! It is complete with photo insert and both sleeve and vinyl are in lovely condition – the record having been played ONCE only, from new, to record !
