This listing is for a rare factory sealed copy of The New York Community Choir - "The Gathering" LP.

 

About the artist:

The much-lauded New York Community Choir put a disco-tinged take on the soul-gospel fusions pioneered by Edwin Hawkins and Rance Allen. It was really a brilliant move, considering how both styles put a premium on soulful belting and inspire dancing at the peak of their intensity.

Behind the perceptive ears of Bernard Diggs, the Choir brought the holy ghost to clubs.

 

 

This 1981 LP is on "Myrrh" records.
