West Texas dowop rarity
Here’s a really obscure Texas dowop record from the summer of 1958. The group seem to come from the ranks of the students at Abilene Christian College out in west Texas.
Tracks here are “Wind” and “Donna Marie.” This is on the nearly unknown Eagle Records label. The group has a pretty hot guitarist for such a straight vocal group, wonder if they borrowed him from some local rockabilly act.
