Description
This is an auction for a rare LP by The Pink Floyd, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn.
This was released by Columbia Records in 1967 and has catalogue number SCX6157. This is the 1st press with a blue/black label, this does not have 'file under pop' on the rear top flipback edge and is stereo. Please check the pictures for clarification.

Condition: The sleeve comes with one major fault, with cellotape seen across the rear. I have checked the inside and this is not torn. The text on the rear is complete and not torn or scuffed so I don't understand exactly why the tape was placed. Other than that it has some discolour marks and a discreet pen mark on the rear. Spine and edges fine, complete and is not torn. I can only grade this at fair as the tape will certainly peel the text if removed.
This comes with its original patent inner sleeve that has some discolour marks, no edge splits.
Both labels are clean, under closer examination some spider spindle trails can be seen on each side. The centre hole shows signs of wear on side two, with just a touch of wear seen on side one. please check the pictures.
The vinyl retains its new shine, when held under a strong light a few light & hairline scratches can be seen. I have play tested this through both sides and was pleased to find this actually plays very well. A few crackles can be heard at the very beginning of each side, this soon clears.
Side 1- Track 3 of side 1, two quiet ticks could be heard, beginning of track 4, a tick can be heard for perhaps 3 or 4 rotations and lastly on this side track 5 towards the end two or three quiet ticks can be heard.
Side 2- Other than the very occasional quiet crackle/tick this side plays through fine.
The music itself plays loud and clear through both sides with no distortion, fading or dragging heard whatsoever. This plays with very little lessening in sound quality for a large majority of this record, with where noted above no major deterioation in sound quality heard. Other than the above mentioned quiet ticks and crackles this sounds fine and does not suffer from a reduction in quality through wear as this has certainly not been overplayed.
Graded at a strict VG, with it certainly sounding a little better.
A gap filler with nice audio, forget the sleeve.
