THE PLAGUE

A South-East London-based punk/power pop band formed late in 1976 and active on the London live scene from 1977. The Plague were the only band to be featured on the spring 1978 'Farewell to the Roxy' tour without being on the live album of the same name. Their debut platter emerged in April 1979 through the Psycho facility. Its two band-penned compositions are enjoyable tunes, expecially the melodic punker on the a-side, which is well worth a spin. 500 copies were pressed, all housed in a D.I.Y. fold-open sleeve, but 2000 further copies surfaced in October on the Evolution imprint, in a different postersleeve and on light-pink vinyl...(from Mario Panciera "(1976/1979) 45 Revolutions" book)
