THE POETS “Heyla Hola / Fun Buggy" (UK STRIKE COLA) promotional only release from 1970?
The Poets recorded a promotional only single for the Scottish-based soft drinks company Barr’s. Issued on their Strike imprint the hugely enjoyable ‘Heyla Hola’ / ‘Fun Buggy’ was a commercial flop, despite a television ad campaign that featured the group in the studio, and tearing about the beach in a dune-buggy style vehicle, accompanied by some ‘dolly birds’. The funky-styled flipside, sporting a chunky riff, sinewy wah-wah guitar and some thoroughly cool drum break-beats has, for the last decade or more, now been celebrated for precisely these qualities mentioned above, and has, thus, been a favourite of discerning club DJs looking for that extra-funky thrill to lay on their dance floor-hungry groovers.

Label: clean paper; solid centre; serated edge; some brown ageing spots - Excellent
Vinyl: super deep shine and gloss; some very light surface marks on flip not affecting play – Excellent plus, (flip) Excellent

I try and grade all records as accurately as my eyes and ears will allow.

Returns are happily accepted if there's an error on my part with grading. But please contact me first to discuss.
I generally wait to leave my feedback until after the buyer has left theirs.
Proof of postage is obtained for every item to aid tracking, recovery and compensation in the rare event of damage or loss whilst in the care of the Post Office.
