Description

With their debut studio album, Red Roses For Me, The Pogues reinvigorated Irish folk music, giving it a jagged punk edge. Traditional songs are bolstered by frontman Shane MacGowan's "gutter hymns" of drinking, fighting, and sex. 
Nostalgic, and bittersweet given all that transpired in the ensuing decades, Red Roses For Me is as transformative today as it was 40 years ago.
