The Police 'Message in a Bottle' Star Shaped Picture Disc
The Police, special limited edition 'Message In A Bottle' star shaped vinyl picture disc single, released in 1980 as a promotional record by A&M Records, catalog number PR4400. Only 10,000 were made. It plays at 33 1/3 rpm and was make in the USA. Side 'A' has the studio track of Message In A Bottle, side 'B' has a live version.
The Cover — printed leather pattern of a wallet with a sticker in the upper right hand corner. On the bottom left of the sticker is printed Stereo 33 1/3 RPM, some websites incorrectly list the speed of this single as 45 RPM. On the bottom right side of the sticker is printed A&M PR 4400 Printed In USA.
Pic Disc Inc. Logo — On the inside of the sleeve, below the large black and white picture, is printed Message In A Bottle, (Sting), ©1979 Virgin Music Inc (ASCAP), ©1980 A&M Records Inc All Rights Reserved, Printed In USA. To the right of that, is this Pic Disc Inc logo, it's so small you need a magnifying glass to read it.
Side A Matrix Number — pressed into the vinyl from the number etched on the master is AM PR 4400 A P2.
