A totally unique Prodigy album. No human being on earth can ever own more than one of this item, as only one exists, and this is it! The record itself, is not the unique thing, but the inner dust sleeve is the star! (see notes)
Artist: The Prodigy
Title: Music For The Jilted Generation (L.P. (gatefold))
Cat no: xllp 114
Record condition: VG+ with the expected light surface marks of love and play, but still sounds great loud!
Sleeve condition: VG+ with pin holes and edge wear. The stunning artwork on the inside of the gatefold is in excellent condition. As for the dust sleeves, please see notes.........
Label condition: VG+
Notes: Right, here we have an original first pressing in tidy order, and that in itself, is a thing of beauty. However, when I pulled out the inner dust sleeve, I noticed it had some 'trippy' artwork, that I had not noticed in any other sleeves. Still, I thought it looked like something the Prodigy would do, maybe a promo or something. But then I put my glasses on and realised it was drawn on in felt tip! Believe me, it is a quality bit of art totally in keeping with the era, the movement and the moment. Please see the pictures. The gatefold inside has an incredibly evocative and amusing painting, given to us by The Prodigy, but the dust jacket gives us an incredible gift given by an, as yet, unkown artist. I would love to think that the person who drew the alien moonscape might find this listing and get in touch. Either with me or the new owner. If you recognise the style or the drawing itself, then please share!
If you are looking for a near mint original, then this one is probably not for you, but if you are looking for something to take you back to the smoky underground in the early hours, then get on it!
This sleeve has a story. I wonder if it will ever be told? I am going to start off at a high price, but I genuinely believe this is worth it considering only one exists!
I have been a lover of music and collector of vinyl all my life. For health reasons, I am having to give up my job, so I am now hoping to turn my hobby into a small business. I will be selling all sorts of records and collectibles from the last 7 decades. I will always do my very best to describe each item honestly and to include as many pictures as I can. Please look at all the pictures, as I use very high-resolution kit so you can zoom right in on them. I will also go into as much detail as time allows so that you can understand exactly what you are bidding on. However, if you are unhappy with your purchase in any way, I offer a full refund upon return of the item. (excludes ‘job-lots’).
I will always protect my records properly for posting and insist upon tracked and signed parcels outside of the UK, unless by prior agreement, as this helps reassure both of us. I will always combine multiple wins to keep postage as reasonable as possible.
I sometimes recycle poor records as extra strength for my packaging. Just for fun and good will, every now and then, I pop in something tasty! A relatively valuable or iconic disc, so folks……………….
ALWAYS CHECK ANY BONUS PACKAGING CAREFULLY! You never know what goodies you might find!
When you find a nice bit of quality, please share the news anyway you like to do that. Oh, also mention the disc in feedback if you can. It is fun my end to see if all the treats and treasures get spotted. Good luck, and keep your eyes peeled, music lovers!
As well as the buying and selling of music and memorabilia, I offer lots of other services. Collections purchased. Comprehensive valuation service for single records or entire collections. Probate and disposal. Storage help and products. Cleaning service. Record protection. Rare vinyl finding service. Bespoke themed packs of 7”s or LP’s for 60s, 70s, 80s parties. Please email me for more details.
Thank you for visiting my new Ebay shop and please also visit my real-life stall at Upmarket22, Church Road, Burgess Hill, in West Sussex.
Simon - GREEN VINYL – Stall 51
GREAT NEWS FOLKS! We have now moved into our first high-street location. Find my stall at Upmarket22, which is in Church Road, Burgess Hill RH15 9AE. I am one minute from the station. Oh, and there is also a cracking cafe on site, which, in my opinion, does the best toasted sandwiches in the town!
