THE PUSSYCATS
“Mrrr… Mrrr… Mrrr…”
WOW!! WOW!! WOW!!! ULTRA MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original MONO press released in Chile in 1966 by Polydor/Philips Records, catalog number 423.020, matrix numbers: 423020 A 8 2 (P) 1966 16*1 (“1” inverted) in Side 1 and 423020 B 8 2 (P) 1966 16*1 (“1” inverted) in Side 2, licensed from the Deutsche Grammophon Ges., Germany. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!!
“Mrrr… Mrrr… Mrrr…” is one of the rarest albums released in Chile, maybe for some kind of relationship between German Polydor and Chilean Philips companies, because THE PUSSYCATS were already a RARE band in Europe and here in Chile, South America, with only 300 copies pressed, youd’ not expect to get a great commercial success. But, here it’s one of those 300 copies!!! And, like in most of the cases, we got this album with an UNIQUE COVER!!!
The cover is unlaminated and is the typical Chilean cover made of an only piece of thick paper or thin cardboard folded in the middle, so the other sides are open and kept together for an outer plastic bag. Paper is very fragile. Front cover keeps the original artwork but back cover is different, with “INTERNATIONAL POLYDOR PRODUCTION” logo in the top right corner, 5 pictures of every member of the band with names and a sentence in Spanish:
1. TROND. “Sólo sé que nada sé.” (I just know I don’t know anything)
2. JIMMY. “-lo siento- no estoy inspirado.” (-sorry- I’m not inspired)
3. INGEMAR. “Estudiar o no estudiar. Esa no es ninguna pregunta.” (To study or not to study. That’s not any question)
4. TEDDY. “Amar o no amar, tampoco es una pregunta.” (To love or not to love, that’s not a question too)
5. FRIEDEL. “Si Ud. cree que yo estoy loco, lo estoy.” (2 times) (If you believe I’m crazy, I am) (2 times)
Tracklist is also in Spanish with credits for “Graff” and at the bottom right corner is a big diamond-shaped pink sticker “SERIE DIAMANTE La Serie De Los Grandes Exitos” (Diamond Serie The Serie Of The Big Hits)!!! Tracklist in back cover and labels are in Spanish only. And in labels the name of the band is written: THE PUSSY CATS”!!!
WOW!!! This is really one of those finds you don’t see so often, one of the only original 300 copies of this RARE BEAT album, listed in Pokora’s book (!!!), released in Chile in 1966, the same year this album was released in Germany!!! Incredible and remember the date is written in the deadwax: “(P) 1966”!!!
Cover is in a great condition, front cover is in great EX or EX+ condition, keeps colours, NO MARKS, NO WRITTINGS, only some wear in the mouth with 2 minimal rips and, and back cover is in VG or VG+ condition, clean and almost perfect, but some past owner had the idea to write his initials and then maybe another owner tried to delete them scuffing them. Anyway, cover is in GREAT condition. The record is in superb VG- or VG condition, glossy and clean but with light scratches and many hairlines and scuffs!!! Labels on both sides are in VG condition, absolutely clean and clear, but in both sides someone wrote his name in Side 1 and initials in Side 2. The sound is in strong VG- or VG condition, loud, clear and clean, but with constant background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), crackles and pops in all songs but not distractive, more evident in the song “Regrets…” (Arrepentimiento), with a loud click. I’d strongly recommend a vacuum cleaning, sure a part of the background noise and crackles and pops are caused for some dust or debris. Maybe in other turntables it doesn’t even present the constant background noise. This is a vinyl, they sound different in different equipments. Overall a record with still a nice look, an excellent cover and a sound quality still respectable after more than 45 years. And you know how much rare this record is in any condition!!!
Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a copy of this MEGARARE record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…
Remember, only 300 copies of The Pussycats’ “Mrrr… Mrrr… Mrrr…” were pressed in Chile!!!
Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.
MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.
NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK
We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
IMPORTANT TO READ
We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I can declare the record as gift if you want.
If you have some doubt or question contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
