DESCRIPTION
The Queers - We'd Have A Riot Doing Heroin / Terminal Rut / Fagtown / I Want It Now / Trash This Place b/w Love Me (Doheny Records E210x5 or 8210x5)
Seminal mega-rare first 7" from The Queers. GEMM/Discogs finds 1 copy available for $1,000 (see here), popsike.com finds 3 sold in the last decade for around that much (see here for an example). 200 copies were pressed, and most seem to have come in plain paper sleeves with hand-written liner notes/credits in ballpoint ink. Matrix etching on this copy reads either "E210x5" or "8210x5" - to me it looks more like a sloppy upper case "E" than a sloppy "8", but I've seen it described both ways.
This copy, however, has some issues. First, it comes in a contemporary generic plain paper 45 sleeve without any hand-written notes - could be it was one of the copies that never had one, or it could have lost its original sleeve over the last 20 years. Second is the condition: both sides have a number of visible marks, including one deep scratch on Side A (see images) that results in an audible "pop" about every 2.5 seconds through the first three songs (from the beginning of "We'd Have A Riot Doing Heroin", to the end of "Fagtown"). The remaining two songs on the A side and the sole B side track play quite nicely, with hardly any surface noise. The A side label has a small bit of discoloration at the bottom that does not affect the text/tracklisting (looks like a dampstain).
Not the best copy of this record, but it's serviceable. I'm more than happy to provide more pictures upon request.
