Description
Released in 1976, this is the long out-of-print Promotional "Mondo Deco" LP from The Quick, the first major label appearance of Danny Wilde. This is Mercury Records SRM-1-1114, and features a gold Promo stamp in the upper left-hand back corner (standard label on record---NO corner clip).
Included is the original double-sided lyric/photo sheet, with lyrics on one side, and band member photos on the other.
One of the most underrated rock/pop singers, Danny Wilde went on to form Great Buildings (with The Quick bassist Ian Ainsworth) for one album on Columbia, before Wilde formed The Rembrandts with Phil Solem.
The 'brandts hit gold with the Allee Willis/Michael Skloff tune, "I'll Be There For You," which became the theme song for NBC's "Friends" sitcom in the '90s.
"Mondo Deco" was produced by the late Kim Fowley (KISS songwriter, Runaways founder, Hollywood Argyles member) and Earle Mankey, former Halfnelson/Sparks guitarist, and Beach Boys and Elton John engineer.
In the pantheon of classic, even seminal power pop groups/albums, The Quick and this album have long been highly-praised and sought after.

LP is in near mint condition. I've been the sole owner of this LP since release. The jacket has just very minor ring wear (bottom front), with no seam splits. Original inner sleeve has one 4 1/2" side seam split, and one very small bottom one. Lyric insert NM.
