This week im listing a few 45 rpm records from my personal collection, Including, GARAGE, ROCKABILLY, R&B, DOO-WOP, NORTHERN SOUL, BLUES, ETC. This auction is for a MONSTER RARE GARAGE ROCKER 45 of THE RHODE RUNNERS Phantom Freighter / Miss Mary Jane HEATH Label 252-08 ORIGINAL STOCK COPY. There is no record number on the label so i put the number in the trail off area. Condition of this 45 is VG+ has alot of gloss on both sides. sounds great. Comes in an original plain brown sleeve. This record is so rare it still has not been listed in the JERRY OSBORNES ROCKIN RECORDS Here is a little bit about this group and this HOLY GRAIL RARE 45 (words from Don Mangus group Leader) :

60s: The Rhode Runners recorded four songs: "Phantom Freighter", "Mrs. Mary Jane", "Road Runner Baby", and "I Love You Truly". Where did The Rhode Runners record these songs?

DM: “Phantom Freighter” and “Mrs. Mary Jane” both were recorded in Ohio with Tooty Heath and Jimmy Heath on saxophone and drums. The Heath Brothers were actually our studio musicians on board at that time. They were passing through Ohio on tour. I can't recall much else other than it was produced in Columbus on The Heath label. IM NOT EVEN REALLY SURE HOW MANY COPIES WERE MADE. Jerry Hanna, Fred Boone and Billy Reilly were not involved because by the time we recorded they had moved away.
 
60s: Do any (other) '60's Rhode Runners recordings exist? Are there any vintage live recordings, or unreleased tracks?

DM: Only "I Love You Truly" and "Road Runner Baby" was never released and is being released on the new album. “Phantom Freighter” and “Mrs. Mary Jane” were originals by J. Heath and T. Winters and will be released by The Rhode Runners again in the new album..

60s: What year and why did the band break up?
DM: I was the last to move away in 1967 and that was the end of The Rhode Runners as a group. I later formed a band with Darrell Marcum (guitar) and Danny Hannavin (drums) called The Ramblin' Ridge Boys and turned into a rockabilly/country mix and was on the radio live in Hamilton, Ohio in 1968-1969. Afterwards I joined the Army
and went to Vietnam.

To my knowledge this 45 has never come up for auction, and may never again. here's your chance to own this monster rare 45.
