A special album which answered the critics, who had accused The Stones of becoming a Beatles copying outfit previously.
It also showed them to be EXCELLENT songwriters beyond the simpler blues based compositions.
Certainly this lp and 'Let It Bleed' would cement their stature as the decade grew longer - perhaps figuratively putting down an intent that carried them so far into the future...as we now know their longevity has carried on!
A top, top album, and here's a 'keeper' copy.
