Collector's info: 1970

The Stones continued the work they started in 1969 with Taylor and took it to Europe. They spent alot of time in the studio, and began many tracks that would appear on albums for the next 10 years. They also continued the tour into Europe. The European Tour in 1970 was very similar to the 1969 US Tour. A song or two was added or dropped, but for the most part, the Stones kept it the same. Dead Flowers and Brown Sugar became standards in the set, and Roll Over Beethoven and Let It Rock replaced Carol.

*Important note> PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE PURCHASING;

The only problem with the tour, which was a fantastic tour, *was that very few quality recordings were made of it. There was no chance the band would release an album, because they had released Get Yer Ya Ya's out in 1970 right before the tour. At this point, the Stones were touring off of Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, and Sticky Finger's (which had not yet been released), because they had not toured at all in Europe since the short 1967 tour. They were also touring in support of a live album, Get Yer Ya Ya's Out. Oddly enough, that is something they would do only one other time, in 1999.

CONDITION OF THE RECORDS:

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, we grade ALL records under a strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight).

  • WE GRADE THE VINYL AS (EXCELLENT). This is one of those albums that are somewhat difficult to grade. It is about, or a notch below, NEAR-MINT- (NEAR-MINT MINUS). VERY FEW ABRASIONS SEEN, along with little 'gray' seen; under a bright light. For the most part, the vinyl's are beautiful (much original luster and shine), without any major visual flaws. *CAUTION>as stated above; The only problem with the tour, which was a fantastic tour, was that very few quality recordings were made of it. The recording here sounds, to us, 'tinnie' and comes through with better quality when we hit 'line straight'.
  •
  • The records are pressed on a beautiful, high quality, non-flexible vinyl. This vinyl was usually used for the first or very early pressings.
  •
  • LABELS; ALL FOUR; excellent condition!
    CONDITION OF THE 'TEXTURED' WHITE COVER:
      • THE COVER SHOWS SOME WEAR, GRADED VG+

      • The following flaws or imperfections are found on the cover:

        • Cover shows some*wear (*graying, some smudging/little 'dirt on white'/little spine 'fraying'~ (all adding up to a VG+ grade).  On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of wear as a 3+/4-.
        • Cover (inside gatefold) quite clean with one imperfection; a very small beginning split (1/2 inch) on inner seam. ~ NOT significant, some will not notice (probably from storage over the years ~minimal, please see pictures). On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and 10 being the most severe), we assess the severity inside page 'fray/beginning split' wear as a <2.
        •
        • Cover (corners/ring impression), ALL LOOK PRETTY GOOD! NO REAL PROBLEMS!
