LK 4733
Robert Stace sleeve
EARLIEST *1/1 Mothers*
MIS-PRINTED SLEEVE TOO
LOVELY AUDIO
(Professionally cleaned with Pro-Ject VCS MkII Vacuum Record Cleaner as well as ultrasonically cleaned)
Released first in the USA on the 30th of July 1965 and then released in the UK a few months later on the 24th of September 1965, it reached number 1 in the US, but only number 2 in the UK charts.
It is a mish-mash of recordings, riding high after their 'Satisfaction' success. Unusually, the US album included the tracks 'The Last Time' and 'Satisfaction' but within the couple of months between the US release and UK release, The Stones added different exclusive songs to their UK release, dropping the two above.

SOUNDS GREAT!!
Looking at the vinyl, I thought there would be significant background noise as there are many light marks..HOWEVER..after giving her a gentle clean, I then played both sides at volume I barely even noticed ANY background noise! The drums on Mercy Mercy really blasted out with pure bass....Honestly-she had a SUPERB AUDIO PLAYBACK. I noticed a very soft pop at the very end of Good Times-but this only lasted for around 3 revolutions and was soft-in the background-and unoffensive. I also noticed a bit of crackle in the run-in to I’m Free-but again it wasn’t offensive and just reminded me I am listening to an original slab of vinyl from 1965 and not a digital file :)
Have a listen to the clip provided.
She certainly doesn't skip or jump on playback and still has all the raw power of The Stones in '65.
It really demonstrates how they knew how to make vinyl back in the ‘60s..Where it can be lightly marked, danced around and yet still play through with clarity :)
Flat & heavy vinyl.
WOW-put her on yer decks and turn her RIGHT UP!!..I did :)
Even the run-ins and outs are lovely and quiet.
Labels:
VG+.
Lovely deep red UNBOXED DECCA labels. Light spindle marks are visible when angled towards the light and minimal hole wear.
NO WRITING RIPS OR TEARS
Deep, crisp and clear groove.
LOVELY AND CLEAR

W-O-W
Even the back white card remains, well...WHITE!
It is the mis-printed sleeve with the incorrect date of “965” to the back..they missed out the “1”!
Laminated cover. There are some small crescents of spidering near the opening-nothing bad at all. As well as a small but unbroken patch of lifting to the bottom right corner.
The back card is one of the best have ever seen!
Very nice strong, white and legible spine.
"Printed In England by Robert Stace"
A very nice example that has made it through the wild parties of the 60's ;-)
Inner:
EX!
ORIGINAL STARRED DECCA Poly-lined inner.
"Made In England"
"BRITISH AND FOREIGN PATENTS PENDING"
In great condition throughout-NO rips or tears..Some discolouration-as can be seen in the images provided.
ALL ORIGINAL
Certainly done her job in keeping the record very well preserved indeed.
SO, STONES FANS-THIS IS A BEAUTY OF A RECORD-ALL ORIGINAL-SOUNDS SUPERB-WILL JUST GO UP IN VALUE!
