Seller’s comments: This, the ultra super mega rare Rolling Stones official promotional LP, London Records, 1969, RSD-1.
A Special Radio Promotion Album In Limited Edition Not For Sale. Only 400 copies were pressed. This is one of the 200 pressed for American distribution to radio stations, therefore it has the blue London label. As with any item, especially a super rare one, before bidding research should be done accordingly.
In very used condition, the record played decently on side 1 and played amenable on about half of side 2.
Artist: The Rolling Stones
Title: A Special Radio Promotion Album In Limited Edition. Not For Sale.
Record Label: London
Record label catalog number: RSD-1 rsd 1 rsd1
Center label description: blue with silver bar and boxed logo header. MADE IN U.S.A. NOT FOR SALE
Matrix run-off: ZAL-9241-1 and ZAL-9206-A
Speed: 33
Size: 12"
Grading Scale: Near Mint / Excellent / Good / Fair
Condition of vinyl: Visually between Good and Fair, with lots of marks.
Play graded Side 1 at Excellent- through Good++ with decent and amenable fidelity, some background noise varying at times, most apparent during the breaks between the songs. The audio was noticeably superior compared to the visual. Song 4 had ticks for about 20 seconds.
Play graded Side 2 at Good through Fair, closer to matching the visual. Mainly the issues on Side 2 are the middle songs where there were intermittent ticks and also split second skips, it made it all the way to the middle of the last song where it reached the repeating skip due to a nodule in the last song that can be both seen and felt, thus the needle was lifted then placed back down and it played the rest of the side.
As a general statement, it can be said that the record played as Side 1 with decent sound quality that exceeded expectations, while side 2 was lesser at about half playable at amenable, and half with issues, as has been described.
Condition of labels: One label is Excellent, one label Excellent-.
Condition of jacket: Good-, with obvious aging and apparent wear, split spine, the back has a translucent cup ring and two partial translucent cup rings. That being said, the glossy cover has performed its function, because the entirety of the front and the back is all legible, the back has lots of credits along with a black & white photo of Mick Jagger opposite a pair of boots. Also, RSD-1 STEREO is printed on the jacket on the back along the bottom line of credits.
The pictures in this listing show reflection of light and variation of color from taking the photographs.
Note to ensure the proper pool of bidders: This is not a CD. This is not a newly issued record in perfect condition and mass marketed. If you are looking for a CD, or for a newly issued record in perfect condition and mass marketed, then you might find plenty of such items elsewhere.
About the seller: A record collector for 39 years and an early eBay member since 1998, you can bid with confidence that this item is real, and it is as described as accurately to the best of my ability and knowledge.
Payment: via PayPal must be received within 2 days of auction ending. The shipping charges include the $2.85 for packing/packaging materials and tracking within The USA. *While eBay requires a shipping parameter in order to the list this ultra rare record, the actual end auction value determines the shipping mode, namely, should the auction end at a high value, then media mail is not utilized, instead alternatives such as priority mail plus cost of insurance and signature delivery are utilized. Wait for the invoice before paying, and communicate any specific preferences at auction closing. Combined shipping for multiple items to save money if preferred. I will send an invoice accordingly, and while the seller will consider any specific preferences, the winner must respect and accept that the seller retains the leeway to do what is necessary in order to protect the integrity of the item as well as to meet the practicalities in order to get the item shipped within a reasonable time frame.
