WOW!! For sale is an incredibly beautiful first pressing of The Rolling Stones - Some Girls! This is the infamous and highly collectible “banned” cover with all celebrity faces before they were removed shortly after release due to copyright. This copy is truly stunning- likely unplayed and handled very little. It is a Monarch pressing from the Monarch manufacturing plant in LA...Monarch pressings are highly sought after for their superior sound quality. It is my personal opinion (and the opinion of many audiophiles) that early Monarch pressings (especially promos) are among the very best sounding original US pressings made.

Sleeve: NM-

BEAUTIFUL die-cut sleeve is nearly perfect! Razor sharp opening edges and die-cut heads with no wear...perfect seams with no cracking or splits...the only flaws to mention are a promo saw cut on the upper part of the spine...extremely light bump to one corner. See pics!

Disc: NM-

GORGEOUS disc retains all of it’s original glossy sheen...no evidence of play. Only a few of the faintest superficial factory“streaks” & wispy sleeve removal traces that appear/disappear when tilted under bright light...no actual scratches...one very light, small mark almost certainly non-sounding but worth mentioning for thoroughness.

Inner Sleeve: NM-

BEAUTIFUL original picture inner sleeve is the first and collectible “banned” variant with celebrity faces such as Lucille Ball and Liza Minnelli which shortly after release were removed on following pressings due to copyright. No tears, creases or splits. Small promo saw-cut only.

Labels: NM-

Nearly perfect labels have no unwanted writing or marks. No evidence of play - no spindle traces. A slight factory “bubble” on the labels would be the only “flaw” I can spot. See Pics- they are accurate and you can see what I mean...just being extremely thorough by mentioning it.

This copy is from the collection of Bob Senn - a renowned Santa Barbara, California DJ and program director for KTMS FM “The Rock on the Coast”. When Mr. Senn passed, his collection was acquired by my friend who has commissioned me to help sell them. There are thousands of records in the collection, almost all promotional copies in mint or close to mint condition.

Grading System:

SS (Still Sealed)

Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.)

M (Mint)

The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. (I will only use this grade on SEALED records that appear to be Mint as I believe any non-new, opened record cannot be truly called MINT.

NM (Near Mint)

A nearly perfect record. Any visible defects are of the type that "disappear" when the record is tilted under a strong light and they should not affect play. Sleeves in near mint condition will have no obvious signs of wear. Practically imperceptible ring wear may be allowed but no creases, seam-splits, or other easily detected flaws will be present.

EX (Excellent)

A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial signs of wear. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.

VG+ (Very Good Plus)

A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split.

VG (Very Good)

A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.

G (Good)

A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.

FA (Fair) and P (Poor)

These grades are for beat-up records. I will only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
