Description
THE ROLLING STONES, S/T 1964 DEBUT MONO DECCA LP, 2:52 TELL ME, 1st PRESS 2A/1A
The Rolling Stones – Self Titled Debut AlbumThis is the debut album by The Rolling Stones, released by Decca Records in the UK on 16 April 1964. Recorded at Regent Sound Studios in London over the course of five days in January and February 1964, it was produced by then-managers Andrew Loog Oldham and Eric Easton.
This is the very rare original pressing with a different (demo) version of ''Tell Me'' with a running time of 2:52. It also has very early mothers/stampers (1 C on both sides). Although the vinyl has quite a few noticeable scrape/scratch marks and I have graded it only as "good" it actually plays very well with only the odd light click here and there. There’s certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it still sounds great! See description below.
Side One: Route 66; I Just Wanna Make Love To You; Honest I Do; Mona; Now I've Got A Witness; Little By Little.
Side Two: I'm A King Bee; Carol; Tell Me (You’re Coming Back); Can I Get A Witness; You Can Make It You Try; Walking The Dog.
The album is on Decca Records, LK 4605. Matrix side one: XARL-6271-2A (stamped); Mother 1, Stamper C. Matrix side two: XARL-6272-1A (stamped); Mother 1, Stamper C.
Released in 1964. UK pressing. Mono.
See photos for more info.
Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: good (has quite a few noticeable scrape/scratch marks and plays with the very odd light click here and there but certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it is still a great listen, plays with no sticks or skips and minimal crackle, name written on label).
Vinyl side 2: good (has quite a few noticeable scrape/scratch marks and plays with the odd light click here and there but certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it is still a great listen, plays with no sticks or skips and minimal crackle, name written on label).
Cover (front laminated, flipback): good (a few laminate creases, aging and name and address written on back, light feathering at opening edge).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler. Payment strictly by PayPal only. Postal discounts available for multiple purchases - Please email for details. 526 (GS 6.6.6 (526))
